The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course is all about fun and adventure, you don’t have to be “Advanced” in skills to take the course. It’s designed to advance your diving, so you can start right after earning the PADI Open Water Diver certification. The course helps to build confidence and expand your scuba skills through different Adventure Dives. You try out different specialties while gaining experiences under the supervision of a PADI Instructor. You log dives and develop capabilities as you find new ways to have fun in scuba diving.
Each Adventure Dive may credit toward the first dive of the corresponding PADI Specialty Diver Course. If you’ve already taken a specialty diver course before the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course, you can also get credit for an Adventure Dive. The PADI (Junior) Open Water Divers who are at least 12 years old are ready to step up and enroll in an Advanced Open Water Diver course. However; young divers may only participate in certain Adventures Dives.
If you have completed 3 Adventure Dives, you can be certified as a PADI Adventure Diver and this can take 1day to complete bur if you have 2days of your time, do continue another 2 more Adventure Dives to earn the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification. However; there are two required dives – Deep and Underwater Navigation in your Adventures Dives before you can earn the certification of PADI Advanced Open Water.
During the Deep Adventure Dive, you learn how to plan dives to deal with the physiological effects and challenges of deeper scuba diving. The Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive refines your compass navigation skills and helps you better navigate using kick-cycles, visual landmarks and time. The other knowledge and skills you get vary with your interest and the adventures you have – photography, buoyancy control, fish identification, exploring wrecks and many more. Have a discussion with the PADI Instructor on what other adventure dives you would like to experience.
The PADI Adventure Diver Certification take just 1day to complete with 3 Adventure Dives and the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course takes 2days to complete with 5 Adventure Dives including Deep & Navigation. When you sign up the course, you can learn thru eLearning and complete the Knowledge Review of the Adventure Dives. If you can complete the Knowledge Review before the dives and ask any questions to the PADI Instructor or you may do the Knowledge Review after the dives but you will only get the PADI Adventure Diver Certification or PADI Advanced Open Water Certication when you met all Performance Requirements of the course.
There are 3 schedules for diving in a day; 0900hrs, 1130hrs & 1430hrs and you are required to be at the Dive Shop 1hrs before the diving schedule for equipment preparation and briefing of the Adventure Dive which you will be doing.
